"Soul Howe & The Swells formed in August 2024, shortly after the annual event “Life Rolls On”. Founding members Alfie Julien and Jason “Soul” Howe attended this fantastic event and were very inspired by this movement and the magical experience of that day!
We gathered from that day that such a powerful international movement deserves an equally powerful anthem to accompany it and to raise awareness of the value and importance of adaptive experiences.

Nova Scotia Collective Soul Howe & The Swells Release “Life Rolls On” An Inspirational Anthem Celebrating Adaptive Sports and Human Resilience
Nova Scotia, Canada — Soul Howe & The Swells proudly present their new original song, “Life Rolls On” an uplifting and emotionally driven track created to inspire, unite, and celebrate the power of community and perseverance. The band respectfully submits the song for consideration as an inspirational soundtrack for projects that highlight hope, inclusion, and the human spirit.
Written, recorded, and produced by eight musicians from Nova Scotia, “Life Rolls On” was brought to life at MediaWorks in Dartmouth, capturing both the collaborative energy of the artists and the heartfelt purpose behind the song. The track blends organic musicianship with a warm, cinematic feel, designed to resonate deeply with listeners and visual storytelling alike.
The inspiration for “Life Rolls On” comes directly from the global nonprofit organization Life Rolls On, which provides adaptive sport experiences for people with disabilities around the world. The song is deeply personal to the band’s story, as the songwriter’s sister participates annually in the Life Rolls On event at Martinique Beach, supported locally by surfABLE Nova Scotia and the Surf Association of Nova Scotia.
Each year, the Martinique Beach event relies on the dedication of over 160 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, healthcare professionals, and members of the local surf community. Together, they make it possible for 50 participants to enjoy a full day at the beach, surrounded by supportive family and friends — experiencing freedom, joy, and connection through adaptive surfing.
“Life Rolls On” is both a tribute to this extraordinary community and a broader reflection on resilience, forward momentum, and embracing life despite challenges. The song stands as a musical embodiment of the organization’s mission: reminding us all that no matter the obstacles, life continues — and so does hope.
